Guess what? This year, I’ve got a greenhouse! Instead of winter sowing in milk jugs scattered around the yard, I’ve set up seed trays inside my cozy little haven. No shade for milk jug winter sowers I’ve always had success with this method, and it works wonders. I’m not an expert, but I’m learning as I go, and I’m thrilled to share this journey with my friends here. Let’s learn and grow together!
I’ve started growing a whopping 23 different types of plants and over 100 seeds! Most of what I grow is food, but I decided to experiment a bit this year. Last year, I only planted a few gladiolus (don’t worry, I bought more to add this year) and loved bringing them inside to brighten up my kitchen. While most of the flowers I’m planting will also be used in herbal tea blends and home remedies, they’ll also add a lot of beauty to my space this year.

Every year, I try something new in the garden, and this year, I’ve added a bunch of new plants that we’re both excited to try and some that we’ve sworn we’ll never plant again. Sorry, Jake, I know you hated dealing with those cabbage worms and moths. This year, we’re growing artichoke, kale, quinoa, chamomile, bee balm, broccoli, cabbage, leeks, and bok choy. We’ve grown plants in the brassica family before and have been completely devastated by cabbage moths. My son, Jake, has never hated gardening as much as the long days of cabbage worm hunting. This year, I’ve got netting bags in hopes of keeping them at bay. I’ve attached a complete list of what we’re growing in the greenhouse now. Also, check out our YouTube episode that goes into more detail about what I started this week.
Looks great, very exciting to see the babies sprouting up
