Hey, I just got back from Colorado, and it’s time to get to work! Farms don’t care about anything else you’ve got going on. Mother Earth is waking up, and the season of long days and endless chores is here. Things will slow down in the middle, where you might just be watching everything grow. That’s pure bliss!
I love watching everything come to life and feel full of excitement for the new season.
I have a long list of things to do, but I’ll take it one step at a time. Remember to always honor yourself, your mind, and your body. I know how it feels to just want to check off all the boxes on the never-ending list. I try to slow down and enjoy the process as much as I enjoy the results.
Here are a few big things on my list. I’ll tackle them in the next couple of weeks or maybe a month.

I have a few big tree branches hanging over my greenhouse and shading my raised bed garden area. They need to go.
Next, it’s getting really hot in the greenhouse, so I need to plan my raised bed area. Since I do square foot or vertical gardening, every inch is carefully planned.
Since I know I’ll be moving where I plant the tomato plants. I’ll need to build extra supports in the raised bed area at their new location. I’ll also build another arbor in a different area for more trellising plants.
Then I need to clean off the future Christmas tree of ornaments and lights. I bought a root ball Christmas tree in December and kept it in the greenhouse this winter. It’s time to plant it.
Finally, I’ll need to build a couple more raised beds this year. Last November, I decided to plant garlic. It won’t be ready for harvest until July. Unfortunately, where I planted it was a tomorrow problem, and tomorrow has arrived. Now I need a couple more raised beds.
I’m sure there are a lot more things on this list. However, these are the pressing issues that need my attention today.
